PSG have taken concrete steps towards replacing Donnarumma, submitting an initial offer to Lille for Chevalier. According to, PSG have already agreed personal terms with Chevalier, who enjoyed a standout 2024-25 campaign with 13 clean sheets in 48 appearances. Lille are holding out for at least €40 million (£35m/$47m) and want to secure a replacement before greenlighting the sale. THE BIGGER PICTURE
PSG’s move comes as contract talks with Donnarumma have stalled over salary terms. The Italian international has rejected PSG’s latest offer of a reduced fixed wage and higher bonuses, compared to his current €10m-a-year deal. With no breakthrough in negotiations for months, the club are keen to avoid losing their No.1 on a free transfer next summer – mirroring the recent loss of Kylian Mbappe. Several top European clubs, including Chelsea, Manchester United and Galatasaray, are monitoring Donnarumma’s situation closely.
